JFK Memorial Hospital is looking for a Physician Relationship Manager in their Business Development Department.

JOB SUMMARY


Responsible for strategically planning and implementing outreach efforts focusing on physicians, community groups, and other potential referral sources in the hospital’s target markets. The position primarily focuses on developing and improving hospital referral relationships with physicians in the service area, with the goal of increasing the selection of the Tenet facility/Facilities for inpatient and outpatient services by physicians who utilize the Tenet facility/facilities and those who also select non-Tenet facilities.


PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for mining data to find potential physicians and referral sources that currently are not choosing to refer to our facility but have opportunity to do so. Strategically implement strategies to develop relationships with these referral sources and educate them on the quality of our services with hopes of gaining their referrals. Will be required to maintain a minimum number of visits on a weekly basis.

  • Responsible for strategically planning and implementing visits to physicians who do not select our facilities, physician office staffs and other potential referral sources throughout the primary and secondary markets.

  • Report on the activity level and outcomes of activities on a regular basis.

    • Provide intelligence to appropriate hospital departments as to process improvements requested or suggested by physicians.

    • Thoroughly research possible referral sources to understand where and why they refer patients to our facility and other facilities. Works with key department members to implement operational fixes that may be needed to better serve patients.

    • Creates a targeted growth plan which includes a detailed list of referral sources to be contacted to achieve said growth plan.

    • Assist in the development of service line marketing plans.

    • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all market dynamics as they relate to physicians and other possible referral sources, and the competitive environment.

    • Serve as a resource for the hospital in the development and implementation of physician recruitment and retention plans for the facilities and for physician outreach in the facility’s service areas.

    • Monitor referral source feedback for the purpose of identifying process improvement opportunities. Suggest innovative ideas that will help achieve growth goals and implement those ideas, once approved by leadership.

    • Document all activities and issues in appropriate PRM tool. Manage issue resolution or coordinate with hospital physician Liaison or appropriate director to resolve issues and communicate the resolution to appropriate stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:

Bachelors degree in Marketing/Sales or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience


Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare


Minimum Experience:


At least 5 years of experience in a related field such as physician relations, network development, medically-related sales, or a similar role in a hospital or other healthcare setting


Other Requirements:


  • Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work under independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to travel.
