Court Services Supervisor - Superior Court of California, County of Riverside - Riverside County, CA
Under general direction, supervises the assigned operations of a Court division or section, and performs other related duties. Ensures services are provided to the public, other courts, and other agencies in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Incumbents in this classification have full supervisory authority for an assigned division or divisions. Supervisor applies the use of discretion and independent judgment when supervising various specialized processes. This classification is distinguished from the senior or lead worker positions in that this position has full supervisory responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1:
Education: GED/High School diploma, and
Experience: Four years of experience working in one or more of the following areas and at least two years as a lead worker or a Courtroom Assistant:
- Court of law preparing and processing legal documents.
- Working in a collections environment.
- Working in a records management/inventory control environment; or
Option 2:
Education: Associate’s degree or higher; and
Experience: Two years as a lead worker or a Courtroom Assistant in one or more of the following areas:
- Court of law preparing and processing legal documents.
- Working in a collections environment.
- Working in a records management/inventory control environment.
Substitution for Education: Graduation from Riverside Superior Court’s Workforce Development program can be substituted for up to two years of education.
License or Certifications: None
Note: The knowledge and ability requirements may differ, and are subject to the area of assignment.
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of supervision; assigning or scheduling work; performance evaluations processes, delegation, time management, and employee recognition methods and practices; general techniques of team leadership; understanding of codes and statutes, local rule, procedures and legal terminology related to area of assignment; general function, organization and operation of the judicial system; use and operation of automated system software and office automation equipment utilized in the court, functions and interrelationship of agencies providing services related to or adjunct to the courts (e.g., law enforcement, prosecution/defense services, social services, mental health).Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to: Plan, organize and supervise the work of others; provide developmental feedback; identify program and staffing needs; coordinate team activities and projects; follow through on issues, concerns, and projects; effectively utilize internal and external resources; develop organizational expectations; initiate and implement procedural change; give clear verbal and written instructions; apply specialized knowledge and understanding of codes, rules, legal terms and procedures related to areas of assignment; resolve sensitive or unusual cases; assess the need for revision of existing or development of new policies and procedures; research and compile workload information; prepare clear and concise factual reports; support new and existing Court policies, projects and programs; develop appropriate solutions for and resolve staff or operating problems; effectively interact with judicial officers, management , staff, and others contacted in the course of work; communicate effectively with individuals of diverse cultural and social-economic backgrounds; work in an environment that includes frequent interruptions and requires attention to multiple tasks simultaneously; respect limit of authority.
Special Requirement: The employee must have the ability to transport himself/herself between or among different work locations when needed to carry out job-related essential functions. If traveling in own vehicle or court vehicle you must possess a valid California Driver License.
