Host/Hostess - Augustine Casino - Coachella, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for monitor dining room or snack bar to insure overall cleanliness, seating and cashiering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

• Provides excellent Guest Service.


• Act as host in greeting and seating of guest.


• Act as a cashier in the snack bar as assigned.


• Handle guest complaints.


• Supervise, motivate, and give direction to all “Front of the House” personnel.


• Monitor the overall cleanliness of the restaurant/snack bar.


• Present a pleasant, hospitable, upbeat, professional manner at all times.


• Ensure proper service and atmosphere for the guest.


• Ensure proper documentation of all cashier paper work.


• Monitor all supplies, inspect all equipment and report any maintenance issues.


• Adhere to all health codes.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous customer service experience


• Previous cash handling experience preferred


• Ability to read write and communicate verbally in the English language


• Basic POS systems knowledge


• Ability to perform intermediate math.


• Ability to recognize, handle and accurately exchange currency (make change)


• Food Handlers Card and Tips Certification required


• High School Diploma/GED or relevant experience in related field

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the kitchen and dining room, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis. Work is performed in an environment which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoke filled and dimly lit. Constant contact with staff and customers. Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch, and sound. Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment
