Mental Health Worker - Anka Behavioral Health, Inc. - Indio, CA





Anka is seeking a reliable and experienced Mental Health Worker to join our team in the city of Indio!

We have both Full time and On-Call positions available.


ABOUT THE POSITION: The MHRW will participate in the operation of our 15-bed crisis residential treatment facility for psychiatrically acute or sub-acute adults who require 24-hour supervision and intense structure. The primary responsibility of a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker is to provide a positive environment wherein consumers can build on their strengths, utilizing a dual recovery model, within the therapeutic milieu using social rehabilitation principles in a community-based setting.


ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Rancho Desert is a Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) Program for individuals experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis. Unlike programs that are held in a psychiatric unit or hospital-like facility, Rancho Desert is held in a natural home setting in order to better engage the individual in the recovery process. Our clients participate in a highly structured recovery program and work with a team of specialists who help them resolve the behavioral or emotional issues associated with their crisis and give them the tools necessary to help them work through future challenges and re-integrate back into the community.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans with consumers and other treatment agencies and individuals to include intake, assessment, community functioning evaluation, and discharge planning. Assure cultural/ linguistic issues are addressed.

  • Meet standard of Medi-Cal billing productivity by ensuring each direct billable service is accurately and timely documented.

  • Complete the admission process on consumers referred by the case management team and accepted into the program, including an initial intake and treatment plan and Community Functioning Evaluation.

  • Maintain a milieu structure that involves the clients in all aspects of the program and participate as an integral part of the therapeutic milieu and as a member of a mental health team in a community-based program.

  • Assist consumers in applying for SSI and other funding and referral to medical care, vocational counseling, MHCC, etc.

Requirements:
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. B.A. Degree or M.A. Degree in psychology, social welfare or counseling is preferred.


Experience: At least one (1) year (2 years preferred) experience in mental health work. Bi-cultural/bi-lingual experience is an asset.


Other Requirements: Valid California Driver’s License in good standing with proof of current auto insurance. Ability to pass pre-employment background check, Med/TB and obtain FBI/DOJ fingerprint clearance.
