Systems Administrator (Desktop) - Information Systems - Eisenhower Medical Center - Rancho Mirage, CA

Job Objective: The Systems Administrator (Desktop) is responsible for advanced troubleshooting and support across Eisenhower Medical Center’s Information Technology (IT) environment which includes workstations, servers, infrastructure, IS security, patch management, software distribution and following best practices.

Licensure/Certification: MCITP, MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, A+, Network+, Security+ (preferred).

Experience: 8+ years in IT industry. 10+ years in IT industry (preferred).

Required:

Strong troubleshooting and analytic skills required and the ability to quickly learn complex topics.

Highly motivated personality and self-starter is essential. Strong organization, facilitation, and team building skills required.

Excellent oral, written communication skills and follow-up.

In depth knowledge of services, applications and concepts such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, WINS, WSUS, PXE, Endpoint Encryption, Citrix, VMware, vSphere, VMware View (VDI), P2V, P2P, Symantec Ghost, Symantec Endpoint, DLP, hardware independent imaging, sysprep, WAIK, LANDesk, SCCM, Single Sign On, Active Administrator, networking, scripting, Linux, printers, workstation security, IT security best practices, VPN, remote access, automated software distribution and other enterprise class tools.

Advanced understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.

·

Strong security background and understanding of fundamental IT security best practices.

·

Adept at providing technical leadership, team mentoring, and project management

·

Advanced workstation, server and software troubleshooting skills.


·

Advanced workstation image development/deployment in an enterprise environment. Testing, deployment and integration through an Enterprise distribution system such as LANDesk or PXE. Understanding of Hardware independent imaging, WAIK, driver injection, and sysprep.


·

Advanced virtualization skillset which would include ESX, ESXi and View (VDI). Includes VM creation, vCenter Management, View Administrator, creating deployment Templates, VDI preparation, vMotion, delegation, clustering, Resource Pools, cloning, P2V with VMware Converter or 3rd party application, thin provisioning, snapshots, vSwitches, and performance tuning.

Advanced LANDesk skills with an emphasis on software distribution. Other important skills would include designing Queries, Delivery Methods, Distribution Packages, Scheduled Tasks, Column Sets, Power Management, Agent Configuration, Agent Deployment, Unmanaged Devices, Custom Data Forms, Reporting and Software License Monitoring.

Advanced Group Policy skillset which would include OU design impact on Group Policy, deployment, testing, inheritance, enforced setting, Security Filtering, Loopback processing modes, Computer versus User policies and general familiarity of available policies, Computer Scripts (startup, shutdown), User Scripts (Logon, Logoff), Software Restriction Policies, Designing and Importing custom ADM templates, Policies versus Preferences, Management of security, windows services, user accounts and groups.

Advanced Active Directory knowledge. Extremely knowledgeable on Domain Controller concepts and principles, which would include, Forests, Trees, Domains, FSMO roles, replication, trust relationships, organizational units, Global Catalog, ADSI, Delegation, management, high availability, advanced troubleshooting, and infrastructure design.


·

Advanced scripting skillset in Batch and VBScript to facilitate the distribution of software.


·

Software distribution through various technologies such as LANDesk, Group Policy and PSExec.


·

Understanding of thorough testing cycles and QA processes.
