Gaming Control Investigator - Fantasy Springs Resort Casino - Indio, CA
Complete reports on all gaming license applicants and gaming vendors for employment and vending purposes. Acts as liaison with Tribal Gaming Commission and Law Enforcement agencies. Prepares written reports regarding licensing suitability, denials, revocations and suspensions. Remains current on laws pertaining to regulatory licensing issues surrounding Indian Gaming and the Fair Credit Act. This position requires maintenance of strict confidentiality.
Protect the integrity of gaming activity by preventing improper or unlawful conduct in the course of gaming activity. Assure that procedures are carried out in compliance with the National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards, Tribal State Gaming Compact, and the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians Gaming Ordinances. Test and certify that slot machines are in compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires maintenance of strict confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts background screenings on all gaming license applicants
Maintain background files on all licensing applicants.
Maintain statistical data on licensing activity.
Receives and reviews applications for licensing.
Conducts background investigations of all employee and vendor license applications and renewals.
Assist in the development, administration, and maintenance of training materials for licensing staff in the principles and fundamentals of investigative procedures and techniques.
Identify fraudulent documents
Take fingerprints and forward fingerprint cards/electronic submissions to NIGC.
Conduct interviews of applicants with questionable details concerning licensing issues.
Maintains accurate files and records for audit purposes
Prepares all licensing suitability and renewal documents and files for monthly Gaming Commission Meetings
Contact for all external agencies including CA DOJ Division of Gambling Control, NIGC, other Indian Gaming facilities, other state casinos and local law enforcement agencies with regard to CBMI Licensing
Liaison for all Screening Service and investigative resources used in investigating suitability of applicants
Maintain Vendor License Logs
Maintain Background File Access Logs for employees with gaming licenses
Assists other licensing staff as necessary
Conducts and participates in special internal investigations and interviews of employees as assigned
Knowledge of rules and procedures for table games, slot operations, cage operations, and count room operations.
Remain highly visible in the casino and during gaming functions- open and close of tables, drop, count and reconciliation.
Conduct investigations and prepare written reports.
Monitor on-the-job performance of employees in the various gaming operations.
Verify jackpots over a specified amount.
Maintain integrity of all EPROMS according to MICS while software is stored in office.
Create systems to catalog software for destruction.
Store EPROMS for destruction and carry out destruction of paper tickets, CDS and EPROMS at regular intervals according to regulations.
Test and verify authenticity of electronic gaming computer control chips.
Monitor and track the delivery, installation, relocation, removal, storage, etc. of gaming devices to assure regulatory compliance.
Ensure maintenance of accurate records; inspect equipment and supplies to verify integrity and compliance with technical standards.
Maintain security control of electronic gaming devices.
Assist in the reporting and documentation of internal audits and assign tasks during quarterly audits.
Evaluate facts in evidence, and arrive at valid conclusions in accordance with Minimum Internal Control Standards, Tribal State Gaming Compact, and the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians Gaming Ordinances.
Special projects as assigned.
Develop work processes as needed to ensure efficiency and quality.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED/Equivalent required. 3-5 years investigative experience either through working in Law Enforcement or Casino Investigative experience. Must be able to obtain a gaming license and fingerprint certification through CA DOJ.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to speak and read fluent English and Spanish.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
