Greet guests and determine the number in their party. Seat guests by finding a clean, available table; pulling out chairs; placing clean/current menu in front of guest, etc. Guide guests through the dining rooms and provide any needed assistance. Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs. Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting. Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures. Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well being of guests.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards. Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Supervises

the following positions:
Water Treatment Operator I, Water

Treatment Operator II, & Water Treatment Operator III, and may supervise

others as needed.

DEFINITION:
Under general direction, the core function of this position is to supervise

a crew in the operational activities related to the District”s T2 classified water

treatment facilities and the District”s water disinfection facilities. In addition, this position will be required

to work on the District”s water distribution system. This position is also expected to provide project

leadership on job assignments and to do related work as required with minimum direct

supervision. This position also

coordinates the training of Water Treatment Operator I, II, and III.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide

project leadership, schedule work, order appropriate materials, and maintain

full responsibility for the crew.

Set

goals and objectives for, and ensure compliance with State permits for the

overall District water quality and for the removal of arsenic and chromium-6

(Cr6) at current and future Ion Exchange Treatment Plants (IXTP) and related

domestic water treatment facilities.

Perform

employee performance evaluations than can curb poor behavior, recognize good behavior,

and encourage excellence.

Operate

and Maintain the District”s T2 Classified IXTP for the removal of Arsenic and

Cr6. Perform routine checks on

operational processes. Adjust

operational parameters to ensure compliance with IXTP permit requirements.

In

addition, this position may be required to effectively operate, maintain, and

repair District chlorination facilities located at wells, booster stations and

other locations in the distribution system.

Analyze the causes of malfunctions and repair or replace equipment as

needed to put the chlorine system back on line with the proper residuals in the

distribution system.

Performs

emergency response procedures for both the 150-pound cylinders and the one-ton

containers. Participates on chlorine

emergency leak response team as “first man” for both Domestic and Sanitation

departments. Uses Repair Kit A, Repair

Kit B, and Chlor-A-Safe unit that contains cylinder leaks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
License or Certificates: Valid California Operators license issued by the

California Department of Motor Vehicles.

Within 24-months of

appointment, must obtain A Hazmat (X) endorsement issued by the California

Department of Motor Vehicles. Driving

record may influence employment or classification.

Possession of a Grade T2

and within two years obtain a T3 Water Treatment Operators Certificate issued

by the State Water Resources Control Board.

Experience:
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the

required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

A typical way would be to have five years of experience equivalent to Water

Quality Operator I or II, with a minimum of one year at the Water Quality

Operator II level.

Our in-house temporary employment program conducts business similar to a temporary staffing agency. Some of the services the Temporary Assignment Program offers include: recruitment, physical examination including drug/alcohol screening, skills testing, a background check, interviews and a customized orientation. Recruiting qualified applicants and meeting our client’s staffing needs are our top priority. The Human Resources Tech I/II for the Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) will be assigned to the Indio TAP Office. This two-person office performs a wide variety of Human Resources services for county departments in the desert region. This office performs temporary staffing for multiple classifications across the county. One position is available, and may be filled at either the HR Technician I or HR Technician II level, depending upon qualifications of the selected candidate.

Under general supervision, to perform a wide variety of clerical personnel functions; to serve as the primary liaison between the operating department and the Human Resources Department for the processing of personnel transactions related to the Temporary Assignment Program and maintenance of TAP personnel records; and to do other related work as required.

Act as a liaison between the Human Resources Department and line departments in the preparation and processing of human resources activities.

Testing All candidates will be required to take a computerized Spanish language test as part of the application process for this position. Candidates who meet the position requirements will be notified of testing information.

The Human Resources Tech I/II for the TAP office performs the following duties:

Greet the public and applicants to provide human resources related information on a wide variety of topics. Answer routine inquiries.

Conduct new employee orientation to communicate county policies and procedures.

Compile human resources records, complete transaction forms, maintain personnel files.

Perform fingerprint rolling services. Initiate background checks with background screening vendors.

Proctor preemployment examinations.

Compose routine correspondence.

Ability to: Evaluate education, experience, and other qualifications and determine their applicability to the established requirements; read, understand, apply, and explain regulations, standards, policies and procedures; communicate effectively orally and in writing; work effectively with applicants, co-workers, other agencies, and the community; maintain accurate records; prepare reports and correspondence; recognize problems and devise effective course of action; collect and evaluate data and summarize findings; perform basic statistical computations.

DUTIES:

– Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delicious food.

– Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases, shelves, and displays clean and well stocked, while continuously checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products.

– Operate equipment and serve product in a variety of Bakery department areas, which may include slicing and wrapping bread, coffee roasting and sales, scooping and serving gelato, barista duties, and preparing juiced and blended drinks.

– Properly package, wrap, and price products for retail sale.

– Maintain accurate department signage and pricing.

– Follow department procedures to maintain supplies, backstock and coolers and to track product transfers and spoilage.

– Assist with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing and by sampling products directly to customers.

– Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.

– Follow all Whole Foods Market cash handling procedures.

– Operate and sanitize all bakery equipment in a safe and proper manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

– Knowledge of bakery products and customer service experience preferred.

– Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers.

– Aptitude to gain extensive product knowledge.

– Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.

– Effective time management skills.

– Strong work ethic and integrity.

– Proper handling of knives and other cutting equipment.

– Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.

Essential Job Functions:

– Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

– Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and

below shoulders and squat.

– Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.

– Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.

– Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
