Front Desk Agent - Desert Breezes Resort - Palm Desert, CA

Job Expectations:

• Manage and resolve all guest complaints (and compliments) in a professional and courteous manner.


• Maintain guest accounts: guest checks, master accounts, vouchers, gift certificates, etc.


• Ensure that the front desk and back office is clean and well organized.


• Resolves complaints and inquiries concerning service and facilities.


• Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff and management in a professional manner.


• Initiate and monitor shift checklist for proper completion of tasks.


• Provide effective communication to all departments of guest activity.


• Effectively coordinate relocation of guests when necessary.


• Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.

Essential Functions:

• Answer/direct telephone calls.


• Demonstrate ability to use computers accurately.


• Operate variety of office equipment.


• Work with and assist in maintaining favorable relationship with the owner, resort staff and internal departments.


• Book and collect applicable fees.


• Answer all calls, voicemail, and internet inquiries in a timely fashion.


• Book and confirm reservations accurately.


• Assists in monitoring and managing special projects and programs as needed.


• Ensures proper coverage of the department during business hours.


• Assists other Front Desk Agents with check-in problems, overbooking and other problem-solving matters; first point of contact for customer resolution while appropriately maintaining professionalism and company standards.


• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor/manager.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

• Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required High school diploma or equivalent


• Minimum Experience required: 1+ year in a related field


• Must have good oral and written communication skills


• Excellent interpersonal skills


• Ability to multi-task
