The Fairmont Southampton Hotel, Bermuda”s Summit of Luxury is seeking a service-oriented professional with strong Sales & Organization skills to join our Sales & Marketing Team.


Hotel Overview: Reigning from Bermuda’s highest point, over a majestic 100 acre estate, The Fairmont Southampton is located on the southern shore of Bermuda. The Fairmont Southampton has been the island’s premier luxury resort since its opening in 1972 and is regarded as a leader in the hospitality industry on the island.


Summary of Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Director, Revenue Management, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


  • Act as a direct liaison with the Group Convener regarding their room block

  • Execute in a timely manner all correspondence with the Group Convener – Room block review letters, guarantee letters, introductory letter, rooming list / pickup review and any other questions or concerns

  • Maintain accurate and current room/rate information in Opera Property Manager and Sales & Catering.

  • Attend weekly department meetings and report on group room block activity.

  • Attend Pre-Convention Meetings as required and work closely with Convener

  • Monitor (daily, weekly and monthly) guest room pickup, group wash according to history and pace

  • Maintain and monitor all group blocks on the system including balancing inventory between room categories and bed types.

  • Review all group room contracts and to ensure information is accurate with no inconsistencies

  • Process all group rooming lists.

  • Liaise with Conference Services and Group Accounts to ensure accuracy of rooming lists and billing instructions

  • Updating Conference Services and Sales on overdue rooming lists.

  • Update GRC with all individual group information

  • Regularly review and action Convention Group Resumes

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Opera Property Manager and Sales & Catering would be a strong asset.

  • Two (2) years Front Office, Reservations or Sales/Group experience is required.

  • Must have high level of professionalism and must work well with others.

  • Detail-oriented and numerical aptitude is a must.

  • Must be flexible with the ability to sustain a high level of productivity and efficiency at all times

  • Must display strong analytical, organizational and administrative skill to be able to deal with multiple priorities

  • Exceptional ability to work under deadline pressures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong computer literacy with Word, Excel and Outlook would be an asset.

  • Desire to work and grow in the Hospitality Industry

  • Post secondary education or Hospitality Degree / diploma required.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift

Visa Requirements: Non-Bermudian candidates will need to qualify for a Bermuda Department of Immigration work permit applied for by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
