Hotel Overview:
Reigning from Bermuda’s highest point, over a majestic 100 acre estate, The Fairmont Southampton is located on the southern shore of Bermuda. The Fairmont Southampton has been the island’s premier luxury resort since its opening in 1972 and is regarded as a leader in the hospitality industry on the island.


Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing , responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


  • To aggressively develop, maintain and solicit a client base of local group accounts, golf groups, and Caribbean groups through preparation and execution of a strategic action plan.

  • Answer all leads within standard timelines, and send subsequent proposals and contracts.

  • Daily follow up on all leads, proposals and contracts.

  • Host site inspections and familiarization tours for tentative and potential groups for both local and international clients as required.

  • Maintain all information within the Sales & Catering System.

  • Solicit new business from assigned markets through personal sales calls, prospecting calls, and networking opportunities and achieve quotas in these areas as well as referrals for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.

  • Host meal functions and entertain clients as appropriate.

  • Supervise and train the Sales Co-ordinator in all aspects of Fairmont Sales Procedures.

  • Co-ordinate with other Departments when there is a responsibility overlap to ensure complete client satisfaction. These include Resort Activities, Public Relations, Discover Bermuda, Conference Services & Catering, Front Office and Reservations in particular.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports and update action plans as required.

  • Attend Pre-Convention Meetings as required.

  • All other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a results-oriented, highly motivated individual, with a positive attitude that thrives in a team-based environment.

  • A Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two years hotel sales experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential

  • Computer literacy including Opera Sales & Catering, Property Manager and Microsoft Office Suite essential.

  • Ability to travel and work non traditional hours and days of week.

Visa Requirements: Non-Bermudian candidates will need to qualify for a Bermuda Department of Immigration work permit applied for by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
