MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for 911 Dispatching:
Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Must have a reliable means of transportation


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handling high volumes of incoming calls

Dispatching the appropriate first responding agency (police / fire/ medical)

Assisting other caller with assurance their need is being taken care of – high quality customer service


CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ability to grasp new concepts quickly and competently

Unwavering attention to detail

The capability and desire to deliver uncompromising customer care

Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Windows

Adherence to confidentiality and discretion

Exceptional dependability & punctuality


Must have 911 dispatching experience.
