Bail Agent Trainee - Aladdin Bail Bonds - Indio, CA





The following list will include “typical” responsibilities for the above mentioned position. Due to the teamwork oriented nature of our Company culture, there may be additional responsibilities which the employee will be expected to perform. If there is ever any question, please check with your Supervisor.

Underwriting


Use independent judgment to evaluate the interrelated considerations of flight risk and financial credit worthiness in determining whether the Company should underwrite the risk of a criminal defendant’s non-appearance in court utilizing a non-exhaustive set of risk criteria typically evaluated in making an underwriting judgment include:


The crime with which the defendant has been charged, the defendant’s criminal history, the defendant’s and his/her family’s ties to the community, defendants’ citizenship and residency, defendant and indemnitor credit history, performance and trade line activity, employment and income, and real property and liquid assets.

Provide an extensive written recommendation based on your evaluation of various risk factors to management for the purpose of obtaining approval on large bonds that exceed your underwriting authority

Adhere to the principles of “Web” underwriting and secure the bond “flight” risk according to company policy and procedure, using sound judgment, while securing premium based upon the economic realities of those involved in the bail transaction

Adhere to all Aladdin company policies, procedures & state regulations

Must complete indemnitor application (includes self-indemnitors) prior to issuing a bond

Must run credit report on indemnitor (includes self-indemnitors) prior to issuing a bond

Execute COMPLETE applications on all indemnitors and defendants, whether it’s your bond or another agent/agency’s

Provide indemnitors and defendants copies of all transaction documents and receipts

Ensure that defendants released on bail return to complete all required paperwork within 24 Hours of release

Work to secure all overdue check-ins or forward to Manager as needed

Verify that all information received from the indemnitor and defendant is accurate

Verify the proof of all 8% bonds to ensure they meet Company criteria to extend the appropriate discount

Confer with branch manager on all bonds that exceed agent underwriting authority (no exceptions)

Utilize the Bond Management Application (BMA) to document every new lead (no exceptions)

Maximize the potential of each bail lead by securing the key information (contact info of caller, name, birth date of def, etc…) and following up

Enter any and all notes into BMA whenever new information is received regarding a customer, defendant and/or co-signor despite the current status

Work each and every lead with a sense of urgency while providing outstanding customer service at all times Customer Service

Provide prompt, professional, non-judgmental customer service to the general public

Inform all clients of the services performed

Inform all clients of their duties and responsibilities regarding the transaction in a professional manner

Provide outstanding customer service with a sense of urgency in the following areas, including but not limited to: check-ins, court updates, payments, reinstatements, as well as any other client issue that can and will arise on a daily basis

Always maintain a professional personal appearance and adhere to the Aladdin Bail Bonds dress code while working with any customer, vendor, court, jail, or co-worker

Always be a TEAM player and provide support as needed without hesitation and/or complaint

Provide positive feedback for fellow coworkers who are doing a good job and always go out of your way to be kind and courteous to the Aladdin team Support

Perform ALL agency check-ins with outstanding customer service, urgency, and diligence

Perform postings and inter-office services promptly and with diligence

Assist CSI and claims department with all requests

Promptly and professionally accommodate the Carlsbad corporate office with any and all requests Job Related Experience Required

Minimum 3 years sales & customer service experience

AA Degree (preferred)

Must be willing and able to obtain a Bail Agent License

Pass an extensive background, credit & department of motor vehicles check performed by Aladdin Bail Bonds and/or a preferred vendor

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal/ communication skills that ensure successful interaction with clients

Possess basic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Proficient with the English Language (additional language speaking a plus)

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced office environment and prioritize to maximize production and increase customer satisfaction

Ability to work with others as a team

Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful and flexible

Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision

Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed to attend to urgent matters
