Security Agent (full time, overnight shift) - Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa - La Quinta, CA

Are you a friendly, outgoing night owl with Security experience, a desire to assist where needed and a knack for repairing things? Then we may have the perfect job for you!

We have an immediate opening for an experienced overnight Security Agent. This position works overnight shifts from approximately 10pm – 6am, typically 5 nights per week.

Minimum experience and qualifications include:
-one year face-to-face customer service type Security experience,
-willingness and ability to get involved and help out wherever needed (even if unrelated to traditional Security duties)
-good written and verbal English skills
-maturity, self-reliance, common sense and the confidence to work alone during this shift

This position requires:

• The instinctive desire to help by interacting and assisting customers, co-workers and our guests


• The desire to be part of the entire team and inherently seek out tasks and duties that help move the organization forward


• Previous security experience preferably in a customer contact position (hotel, hospital, restaurant, etc)


• Guard card, Private Security Officer card or equivalent as required by BSIS (Bureau of Security & Investigative Services).


• Basic repairs and maintenance abilities including painting, basic plumbing, etc

A big part of this position is ensuring the safety and security of our event guests while they are attending weddings, parties, proms, etc on our premises. The ability to calmly and respectfully interact with these guests is paramount.

When not attending to our party and/or hotel guests, there will be periodic stretches of time when you will be responsible to repair, paint, maintain, clean, set up and otherwise help in other areas of the organization.

The hotel security staff performs tasks such as the following:

• Respond to individual guest needs and concerns.


• Patrol property, both inside and outside.


• Respond to complaints and calls for assistance.


• Check security locks and alarms on doors and stairwells.


• Escort guests and/or employees as needed.


• Monitor surveillance cameras.


• Write and submit written reports.


• Work cooperatively with local law enforcement.


• Assist with repairing simple maintenance issues that occur on the overnight shift


• Active involvement in risk management and the hotel’s safety committee

Wage range is $13-$15 per hour depending on experience, skills and knowledge .
