Customer Service - OutBound Inventory - FIND Food Bank - Indio CA - Indio, CA


Job Title: Customer Service Specialist for Agencies and Clients Shopping Area/Outbound Coordinator
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
Location: Find Food Bank


Position Summary
The Customer Service Specialist Agencies and Clients Shopping Area/Outbound Coordinator will report to the Operations Supervisor. This position works with all agencies. Assist agencies with order filling, order verification and proper storage of food/non-food product, receiving all distribution, inventory and cycle counting in accordance with established operational policies, principles, and procedures. Responsible for keeping the shopping area inventory properly stored using a FIFO policy with all warehouse products rotated and accounted for. Fulfill and manager all online orders for distribution to agencies. File reports as required by various agencies affiliated with FIND Food Bank.


This position also supports operations in the pulling, putting away and order filling and/or transferring pallets of food and non-food products when needed.


Position Responsibilities


  • Ensure that agencies are checking-in with proper identification and checking-out with product amount allotted. Oversee that all agencies are shopping in authorized areas only. Ensure that agencies are following rule of the warehouse.

  • Oversee all agency private and online shopping and build orders as needed.

  • Makes arrangements with agencies to pick up their donated product or delivery of orders.

  • Coordinate all agency activities with Operations Supervisor.

  • Prepare daily/weekly reports.

  • Conduct daily/weekly spot checks of inventory.

  • Coordinate and help maintain a controlled work environment for volunteer work crew.

  • Be aware of who is in the shopping area and stay in shopping area until area is closed for the day. If you need to step away please be sure to have cross-trained staff member to cover for you.

  • Correctly fills orders as needed. Follows FIFO (modified to first to expire/best use by date) inventory practices.

  • Correctly pulls, puts away product.

  • Complete Coolers, Freezer cleanliness and Pest Control daily,

  • Prepare orders, ensures proper completion and filing is done daily.

  • Communicates effectively with agencies, team members, supervisors/managers, and all volunteers.

  • Supports the operations when necessary in the putting away and transferring of product.

  • Keep work area clean and orderly using the cleaning compliance policy. All trash and cardboard is to be removed daily. Department is to be completely set-up for next day at end of shift.

  • Store forklifts, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks and reach truck are put away in its designated area and insure that they are properly charged and ready use the following day for shopping area.

  • Motorola hand-held bar coding guns are placed in their designated areas at the end of the day and fully charged for use the next day.

  • AIB certifications as directed by management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications


Education: High School diploma preferred.


Work Experience: Minimum of six months demonstrated and successful coordinator or supervisory experience in warehouse operations and customer service or related field.


Basic Skills: Must be knowledgeable in shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures. Ability to operate powered electric equipment such as fork lift and electric pallet jacks. Must have excellent reading, writing and communication skills. Strong computer skills are required and experience in Microsoft Office related programs. Must speak English, bilingual preferred.

  • Food Handler and/or ServSafe certified.

  • Knowledgeable of warehouse sanitation.

  • Must have a valid driver license
