Maintenance Worker - Creating a Legacy, Inc. - Indio, CA

Job Summary
Creating a Legacy, Inc. is seeking a full time Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of complex and routine repairs/preventive maintenance of physical plant and equipment including rough/finish carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing. As a Maintenance worker, you must be flexible and available on an as needed basis for emergencies. You will assess and perform quality work on a priority basis to maintain the safety and function of all facilities, equipment, and vehicles within the assigned project.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops a schedule of basic maintenance tasks.


• Completes required maintenance tasks in a timely manner.


• Ensures that repairs are made in a way that is clean, healthy, safe and in compliance with the area laws and licensing authority regulations. Regularly inspects assigned work areas and maintains a neat, efficient, and safe work area at all times.


• Installs, troubleshoots and/or repairs household items including, but not limited to appliances, fans, lights, etc.


• Installs, troubleshoots and/or repairs structural components of residences including, but not limited to flooring, carpets, paneling, doors, etc.


• Advises supervisor when an outside contractor may be necessary.


• Performs basic home maintenance tasks, including, but not limited to, painting, spackling, and basic electrical or plumbing work.


• Respond to facility emergencies as an on-call personnel.


• Complete work order, mileage sheets, invoices, time sheets, and other paperwork in a timely fashion.


• Picks up and delivers donations, supplies, and materials for jobs, both on site and at off-site facilities.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience in plant, building, equipment and utility maintenance. Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment.


• Valid Driver’s License
