Pool Attendant

Summary of Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Grounds Director, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues to ensure an exceptional guest experience

  • Ensuring there are sufficient towels in the towel bins and collect additional supplies from the laundry department as needed

  • Test chlorine levels in pool and balance as required

  • Ensure pool is vacuumed thoroughly and clean debris as needed

  • Check water levels in pool and add more water as required

  • Ensure there is an empty towel bin available for soiled towels and sufficient trash bins placed around pool area

  • Clean umbrella tables and chairs and sweep pool deck as required

  • Ensure office area is clean and tidy

  • Clean debris from pool skimmers as required

  • Sweep the pool deck of debris

  • Ensure daily cleaning and replenishing of towels in the Fitness Center

  • Perform any other function related duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Valid CPR certification is required

  • A lifesaving certificate would be advantageous

  • Applicants must be aware that irregular hours, split shifts and public holiday work may apply to this position

Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):


  • Sitting – 0-2 hrs/day

  • Walking – 6-8 hrs/day

  • Standing – 6-8 hrs/day

  • Bending/Reaching – 6-8 hrs/day

  • Pushing/Pulling – 4 hrs/day

  • Physical Effort – Does not lift weight over 50lbs

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Library Technician (Elementary Schools) maintains the library collections at school sites; identifies age appropriate resources for students and teachers utilizing library resources; selects appropriate items in support of classroom instruction; and performs clerical functions related to collection, processing, circulation, maintenance, and inventory of library materials and/or textbooks.

FUNCTIONS

• Assists teachers, students and administrators to identify resource materials for use in classroom and/or class assignments.

• Responds to inquiries of students, staff, parents (e.g. availability of books, finding appropriate reference documents, status of overdue fines, etc.).

• Oversees student aides and/or volunteers.

• Processes library books, periodicals, software and related media materials (e.g. logging into master files; barcoding, shelving, producing required reports, etc.).

• Maintains materials inventory (e.g. library books, library hardware/software, media equipment and related instructional materials, etc.).

• Monitors student activities.

• Evaluates books and/or periodicals for retention within collection (e.g. repairing damaged books, recommending retirement of books and/or periodicals).

• Processes new student library cards; notices of missing, damaged, or overdue books, media and materials.

• Prepares computerized and manual reports (e.g. collection statistics, scheduling reports/requests, renewal information, overdue lists, textbook orders, fines, costs, etc.).

• Performs circulation activities (e.g. item check-in and check-out, prepare circulation count, lists of overdue items).

• Leads classes and/or activities in a variety of formats (e.g. reading, story telling, puppet plays, contests, etc.).

• Assists other personnel, as may be required.

• Performs related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above. An example of an acceptable combination is:

Graduation from high school and two years of clerical experience in a school or public library supplemented by college level courses and library procedures.

SKILLS to plan, coordinate and arrange library resources and activities; assist students in the use of library resources and references; assist students in selecting appropriate books for their level of achievement; use library catalogs, computer searches, and other reference materials; maintain files and keep records manually and electronically; work with numerical and/or alphabetical filing systems; perform mathematical computations accurately to maintain records and complete reports; operate a computer and use related software.

KNOWLEDGE of library methods, procedures, terminology and related technology; school library practices and techniques; library media terminology and processes; operation of library media equipment; biblographic sources; standard reference materials; catalog card preparation, formats, and filing rules; office practices and procedures; standard library library reference sources; applicable software programs.

ABILITY to type at a speed of 35 words per minute; maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field; work independently with little direction and provide work direction to students; set priorities; establish and maintain effective working relationships; work as part of a team; understand and be sensitive to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of vendors, district personnel and administrators; maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 20% walking, and 60% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a full-time Clinician to work at our Rancho Mirage Health Center located in Rancho Mirage, CA or at our Coachella Health Center in Coachella, CA.

The Clinician will provide quality reproductive health care services including exams, diagnosis, treatment, education, and counseling for clients in accordance with PPPSW protocols. The Clinician will also serve as a medical resource for other licensed and non-Licensed Staff.


Requirements:


  • Licensed in California as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably with specialty in women’s health care, or Physician Assistant.

Essential Functions:

  • Comply at all times with PPPSW Medical Protocols.

  • Act as a medical resource and provide oversight of non-licensed clinic staff.

  • Act as a resource and consultant for nursing staff as needed.

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat clients’ medical problems relating to reproductive health issues appropriately and only when covered by PPPSW medical protocols (unless Physician consult sought). Medical problems include but are not limited to vaginal and urinary tract infections, STI’s (including HIV), breast pathology, contraception side effects, pelvic pain, and abnormal uterine bleeding.

  • Perform examinations for initial and returning family planning clients including pap/gyn, STI, breast, contraception, and post abortion exams.

  • Take rotating on-call duties when trained and requested by supervisor.

  • Co-manage, with Physician, possible ectopic pregnancies and other complications of medical abortion clients.

  • Provide orientation and training to Licensed Staff.

  • Complete and maintain drug logs and external Rh control logs.

  • Work directly on Practice Management system for the electronic management of client information including but not limited to client tracking, coding, charting, logs etc.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Agency’s Practice Management System.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of client information entered into the Agency’s Practice Management system.

Job Summary:
Under direction, prepare, process and complete a diverse range of complex transactions; establishes control procedures in the audit and verification of

the accuracy and timeliness of student data processing input and output operations as it relates to the compilation of student attendance accounting.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Conducts orientation and training programs for the purpose of communicating established board policies and state regulations to site personnel as

it relates to student attendance accounting.

  • Develops and Generates various fiscal reports and documents (e.g., class-size averages, rates of attendance, instructional minutes, etc. ) for the

purpose of ensuring compliance with district, county and state regulations; provides daily, weekly, monthly and annual updates as needed to

provide management with an effective tool for monitoring student attendance and enrollment trends.


  • Maintains fiscal information, files and records for the purpose of complying with established fiscal guidelines as determined by district, county

and/or state policies/procedures.


  • Audits and reconciles student attendance and enrollment records to ensure accuracy, compliance and adherence to applicable district, county and

state policies/regulations.


  • Analyzes problems and troubleshoots solutions; identifies errors in data and makes corrections or refers data to responsible party for correction.

  • Prepares reports and findings of analyses to management, and other appropriate staff, including recommended corrections and improvements.

  • Analyze, Prepare and Process various state attendance reports (e.g. Average Daily Attendance, Class-size Reduction, etc.) and enrollment data

for the purpose of updating information, ensuring fiscal accountability, and/or authorizing final action in compliance with district, county and/or state

policies, procedures and fiscal requirements.


  • Serves as a resource to district and school-site personnel related to student attendance/enrollment rules, regulations and procedures for inputting

and retrieving data from the attendance software system.


  • Research and resolve student attendance issues (e.g. monthly attendance registers, entry-withdrawal entries, attendance codes, etc.) in

accordance with district policies/procedures and state requirements.


  • Performs a variety of technical duties without detailed supervision and exercises initiative and independent judgment in applying established

practices and procedures to specific cases.


Other Job Functions:


  • Assists other department and site personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

  • Attends meetings as required for the purpose of maintaining skills and gathering and/or conveying required information.

Essential Job Requirements – Qualifications:

Physical Requirements: Employees in this classification stand, walk, sit, use fingers repetitively, use wrists or hands repetitively in a twisting motion or

while applying pressure, use both hands simultaneously, have rapid mental/muscular coordination, lift moderately heavy objects; good speaking and

hearing abilities; bending at the waist, kneeling and crouching; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; stooping; ascending and

descending stairs; sitting for long periods at a desk and in front of a computer. Persons with certain disabilities may be capable of performing the duties

of the classification; have the ability to occasionally lift moderately heavy objects weighing up to 52 pounds, frequently lift up to 5 pounds and constantly

lift a minimum of 5 pounds; have the capability to push 30 pounds maximum force and possess the capability to pull 30 pounds maximum force. Such

determination must be made on an individual basis by the District’s medical examiner, taking into consideration the nature of the disability, prosthetic aid

Work Environment: Employees in this classification work inside with exposure to minor contagious illnesses (colds, flu, etc.) in direct contact with the

public and other District staff, without direct guidance from supervisor, with a high volume of work and tight deadlines, continuous changing priorities and

interruptions. May require exposure to extreme weather conditions for moderate periods of time. Other atmospheric conditions include Fumes/Odors:

Copier and copier products; paper dust generated from the use of paper goods, dust, etc.


Education and Training Required: Associate of Arts Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field plus four (4) years of increasingly responsible

experience in student attendance, financial or statistical record-keeping, or six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in student attendance

applications, financial or statistical record-keeping.


Licenses, Certifications and Testing Required:

GENERAL INFORMATION
Position involves exposure to heat, humidity, and noise; exposure to heavily soiled or contaminated laundry; and handing of caustic and acidic products. Some positions require driving a vehicle to pick up and deliver laundry.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Laundry operations. Typical duties: sorts and weighs soiled laundry; loads and unloads machines; shakes, irons, folds, sorts, and counts clean laundry; disposes of unusable items and reports need for replacement; stores and secures supplies and equipment; cleans laundry area.


2. Machine operation. Typical duties: operates washing machines, dryers, extractors, ironers, steam cabinets, folders, and sewing machines; selects correct cycles, formulas, temperatures, and drying times; prepares and loads laundry chemicals; monitors machines for problems and performs minor maintenance; may operate a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver laundry-related items.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Good knowledge of: institutional laundry methods, equipment, and operations; reaction of common fabrics to detergents, washing agents, water temperatures, and drying heat; laundry chemicals and their use;Some knowledge of: methods of scheduling work in an institutional laundry; health and safety practices required in an institutional laundry.
Experience: identifying fabric colors and types; determining correct wash formula and machine cycle for various types and sizes of loads; operating and cleaning institutional laundry equipment; understanding maintenance and operation manuals.
