Welder - Wind Field Service Technician III - NextEra Energy Operating Services, LLC - Palm Springs, CA
is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power and renewable energy from the wind and sun in North America.
Under limited supervision, performs major maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generator sets specializing in welding repair to various wind turbine components.
Attend regular safety meetings and follow appropriate company safety and environmental policies. Operate, maintain, and manage utility truck and tool inventory. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 100 feet from the ground surface.
Up to 80% travel with little or no notice within the entire NextEra Energy fleet is required as part of the employee’s schedule. Two years of industrial mechanical experience at journey-level preferred.
Previous experience removing and replacing industrial machinery is a plus: knowledge of crane related activities, including safe rigging practices, communications, and heavy lifting experience over 10 tons. Call-outs, weekends and overtime as needed. Typical work schedule is forty to sixty hours per week and must be willing and able to perform both call-out and extended hour overtime.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Valid Driver’s License. Technical Associates Degree in Power Generation/Renewables or 5-7 years experience with industrial machinery repair and replacement.

AWS (American Welding Society) Structural Welding Code AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G & 4G certificate
