Customer Service Representative I - Coachella Valley Water District, CA - Coachella, CA

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receives irrigation water orders, requests for domestic water, construction water, sanitation inquiries and meter installations by telephone or in person. Receives calls regarding breaks, malfunctions, and temporary turn offs. Receives and processes unscheduled water orders, changes in amounts of water ordered and informational requests. Dispatches appropriate district personnel to solve problems using a two-way radio.

Checks irrigation meter number for accuracy to insure clearance for delivery, customer identification and authorization, the ordered amount is recorded, and the turn on and turn off dates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: One year experience in a customer service related position. Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly desirable.

Knowledge of: -Methods of computer entry and retrieval of data.

• Filing methods and recordkeeping principles and practices.


• Effective customer service techniques.

Abilities: -Work rapidly and accurately in receiving and processing water orders.

• Learn and implement district policies regarding the establishment of water delivery service, sanitation services, and billing for services.


• Learn basic operations relating to the distribution of irrigation and domestic water.


• Develop and use professional customer service skills in working with the public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sits for prolonged periods of time operating a computer workstation and repetitively answer the phone.
