Full-time Store Associate - Palm Springs location - Desert AIDS Project - Palm Springs, CA





Assist customers on the sales floor. Process sales transactions for Brand New product. Assist Volunteer staff with questions and concerns. Help maintain the store appearance and cleanliness. Process incoming donated product and ready it for the sales floor.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Sort all donated items – resale, damaged, not usable;

  • Sort donated clothing into proper groups – resale, damaged, not usable;

  • Process donated clothing to include sort, hang, make presentable, put out on sales floor;

  • Assist with store displays as needed;

  • Greet customers when on sales floor;

  • Interact with customers answering any questions they have;

  • Assist with customer requests;

  • Assist in warehouse as needed;

  • Clean warehouse and restrooms as assigned;

  • Assist customers in the purchasing of Brand New product;

  • Other relevant duties as designed.

Training, Experience

  • Previous experience with resale clothing or retail sales;

  • Past experience working in retail required , preferably in a thrift store;

  • Cash register experience preferred;

  • Warehouse or stock room maintenance experience preferred.

Ability to:

  • Convey outgoing personality; work positively with the public;

  • Price used clothing, merchandise, and furniture;

  • Handle disputes and complaints calmly;

  • Follow direction and/or work list;

  • To work independently and productively;

  • Train and teach Volunteer staff;

  • To make decisions;

  • Merchandise and display product on the sales floor.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Possess a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record;

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
