Grounds / Porter - RPM Company - Palm Desert, CA

Groundsperson: Responsible to ensure optimum curb appeal is consistently maintained through regularly schedules grounds maintenance programs

Reports to: Property Manager of the assigned property

Supervises: 0 employees

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years experience with residential property grounds maintenance


• No specific level of education required


• Ability to read and write English for safety and productivity purposes


• Must have ability to work efficiently, with attention to detail and a sense of urgency in completing job tasks


• Ability to maintain a friendly attitude with prospects and residents


• Strong customer service & communication skills


• Pool care (if required)


• Irrigation maintenance and repair (if required)


• Requires individuals to wear company specified uniform apparel and safety equipment


• Must be flexible regarding days and hours worked, to include overtime


• Must have a valid Drivers License and proof of automobile insurance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Ability to use general maintenance equipment including, but not limited to, hands tools, pressure washers, shampooers, blowers, sandblasters, ladders, freon recovery units, landscaping equipment and required safety equipment


• Maintain all public and common areas of the property in a clean, neat, attractive condition; specifically, removal of all trash and litter, sweeping sidewalks and pathways, basic gardening and weeding, and wiping down and cleaning of any windows or common furniture


• Complete assigned service requests and repairs correctly and in a timely manner


• Maintain an excellent customer service relationship


• Abide by the company’s hazard communication program and follow correct, safe work practices at all times


• All other duties assigned by the supervisor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel and reach


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for indefinite distances


• Ability to spend 60-70% of time performing hands-on make-ready duties


• Ability to work in confined spaces


• Ability to withstand inclimate weather, to include excess heat and cold
