Food & Beverage Captain

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Maitre D’, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Supervising multiple work stations, maintaining a professional work environment


• Assisting guests and team as needed


• Assisting with opening and closing procedures


• Assisting with outlet inspections including the team’s uniform compliance


• Responding to questions and complaints promptly and appropriately


• Checking supplies are adequately stocked, tables are set/reset as needed, and general areas are immaculate


• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service


• Other assigned duties

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Captain in a fine dining restaurant is an asset


• Good team leadership and basic trainer skills


• Sound knowledge of food & beverage services


• Excellent organization, communication (verbal and written, fluent in English) and interpersonal skills


• Proficient with self-cashiering and Micros or similar system preferred

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift


• Frequent lifting and carrying up to (choose pounds depending on position)


• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting


• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Visa Requirements: Non-Bermudian candidates will need to qualify for a Bermuda Department of Immigration work permit applied for by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
